🧡 Not Our First Rodeo… Just Another Round of Second Chances 🧡

🧡 When Food Needs A Home... 🧡

This isn’t the first time we’ve stepped in when good food was on the brink of going to waste — and it won’t be the last.

Over the past year, MV Trucking (operating under SDS Refrigerated) has helped reroute rejected but perfectly good products across the country — giving them a second chance where it matters most: on the tables of families who need it.

  • 📍 Kansas – Salmon
  • 📍 Texas – Calamari
  • 📍 Arkansas – Shrimp & Combos Snacks
  • 📍 Colorado – Frozen Pizza
  • 📍 Florida – Potatoes

Today was no exception. When a load of fresh potatoes was rejected at the dock in Florida, we jumped into action. With the help of MV Trucking, SDS Refrigerated, and a key assist from PS Connections, those potatoes were quickly redirected to a local organization that welcomed them with open arms — no waste, no delay, just food going where it’s needed.

A special thanks to:

All Faiths Food Bank in Florida 💪

They were willing and able to accept the 10,800 lbs of potatoes otherwise destined to waste.

When the situation arises, we reach out to local food banks, shelters, or recognized community charities to take in food that would otherwise perish in a landfill.

🚛 Why Second Chance Zone?

People often ask how a store like SCZ gets involved in food donations. The answer’s pretty simple: we live it.

The founder of Second Chance Zone isn’t just an entrepreneur — they also drive OTR coast-to-coast, running freight with MV Trucking under SDS Refrigerated.

After years on the road, seeing good freight rejected for minor reasons — then trashed — it sparked a bigger idea:

What if we could reroute it?
What if second chances weren’t just for people… but for food too?

That idea became Second Chance Zone’s (partnered with MV Trucking) mission. A mission to keep good things from going to waste and get them into homes and hands that need them most.

We’re proud to live the hustle — and when a shot at doing some good rolls in, you know we’re taking it.

🧡 Thanks for riding with us. More second chances ahead…
